Geena Hymer
Geena Hymer is fiercely proud of being nineteen years released from the darkness of self-harm and suicidality and ten years into her binge eating disorder recovery. Her life’s purpose is helping others find their own path to healing, feeling seen, and having their experiences validated, which is driven by her strong relationship with her Heavenly Father. She’s the blessed dog mom to her adopted terrier mix, Bayla. Currently, Geena is working on her first memoir with Hope*Books and living with family under the beautiful and often cold blue skies of western Montana.

Chapter Twenty: The Moment of Impact
Geena’s chapter opens on the day her parents’ marriage explodes: her father holds a gun to his head, her mother screams, and the children sit terrified in the car. That freeze-frame sets a lifelong pattern—feeling responsible for keeping Dad alive, struggling to trust, and tensing at the sight of any gun. As an adult she finally speaks the memory aloud to her father, feels God’s timing in their mutual truth-telling, and then takes the next brave step: a private firearms-safety class arranged by her sister. Praying for steady hands, she learns, practices, and succeeds—closing a loop of trauma and reclaiming her voice, her faith, and her future.
